    Ok guys, help really appreciated.
    Getting the following

"The file system on the system storage is corrupted and will be restored"

At this point I click "ok" and the console starts to restore and finishes. Then the console does NOT restart as promised, leading to a blank black screen. Help!

    Ronan.

With the PS3 off, press and hold the power button until you hear the second beep.

Tried that and getting the same message :-(
The PS3 doesn't switch off completely after the restore. To describe it it's blank navy, still on but unresponsive.

First try to go to Recovery Menu and install FW from USB stick. If you can't go to RM take HDD off the PS3 and turn it on, you should see something like: "...system storage was not found..." Connect HDD to PC, format it and put it back to PS3 and see what happens.

This happened to me last week. My hard drive was too corrupted to restore so I had to buy a new one and replace the corrupted one. Easy enough to do.
