Hi I am asking this for a friend. Currently living alone but is considering moving into a house share. He has no relationships with the prospective housemate just a straight up house share. Will he still be entitled to receive the fuel allowance (he is on disability)? Thanks for any input:)

Depends on the source and amount of income of the other tenant.

There are 4 other tenants and he doesn't know them very well so he can't ask them about their income. I think though they maybe students. I didn't think he'd be able to keep it but I thought I would check anyway. I suppose he is better off right now if he stays where he is in his flat.

    Thanks:)

Yea that's pretty clear cut so, if he (understandably) couldn't provide the info they couldn't award the payment.
