Vietnam Tourist Visa

    Anyone been to Vietnam lately?

    Unsure how to get the simple 15 or 30 day travel visa.

    Embassey charges £62 (€78) for a 30 day one and I have to send my passport off to London.

    Trip adviser has an article which states:
    Please note, that while Vietnamese Embassy websites usually include a warning against using VOA, claiming the agents are dodgy and the process illegitimate, this is untrue. The reason they do this is to scare intending visitors into buying a more expensive visa through the Embassy, as this is a major income stream for them.

    So what am I to think? anyone have any recent experience with this?

    €78 euro is alot for an 8 day visit!

    just back from hols from Vietnam last friday :(
    We did the Visa on Arrival and it all worked fine for us-
    we did it through myvietnamvisa.com
    Very straight forward, fill in the details, pay the fee- you will get a letter e-mailed to you within 24 hours.
    When you arrive in Vietnam you produce this letter and and 2 passport photos, fill in another form and bobs your uncle!

    You can get a visa in the airport when you land.

    you can get it at the airport but you have a apply through an agency like above vietnamvisa.com, we've used them every year with no problem very straight forward. The embassy puts out this warning out as there losing so much revenue.

    We never had to use an agency just paid or small fee at the airport no problem.

    If you're going to Cambodia or Thailand on your trip you can get it done pretty much on the spot in the Vietnamese embassy and it's cheaper than the London embassy as they all charge whatever they like really.

    Thanks all, It seems as though a Visa On Arrival is the way to go!
