    Hello

Neighbor has 1/2 acre of rough ground outside new house. It's over grown. Grass furze and brambles. Wants to level it off .spread topsoil and reseed it. No idea what to do first. Remove all growth first of just get in a track machine. Or spray it off. Any help and advice appreciated

Could I maybe get a list of what to do first and what to to after that up till the grass growing. Also if anyone has any idea of prices for this work we'll take that too.

just get in a track machine or digger, he'll gather up all the rough stuff and leave them in a heap, he can loosen up all the topsoil and level it off. Your talking anywhere between 35 to 45 / hour for digger work.

Then get in a local farmer with a power harrow or else hire out a rotavator to break up all the sods.

Rake up any stones and spread your seed/fertiliser. Sounds handy enough but there is a bit of work in it alrite, depending how much ya do yourself.

If there is gorse and brambles I would suggest spraying with a systemic weedkiller to get the roots, leave to die off for a couple of weeks before clearing.

    Thanks for that lads.

So spray the weeds. Get in a track machine to scrape off topsoil. Level it all out and spread out topsoil again. Break up the sods then. Spread grass seed and fertilizer.
