Query about transferring

I just got offered Arts at UCC in the CAO offers this morning. Galway was my number 2 choice even though I was confident about getting Arts in UCC.

Now I know that there's no way I can accept Arts in Galway through the CAO but I was wondering if there's a way for me to transfer from first year Arts in UCC to first year Arts in NUIG through the colleges? Even if it's doing the first semester in UCC and doing the rest of the course in NUIG. If it's not possible to transfer during first year, is it possible to transfer to NUIG in the future or is the only way re-entering the CAO next year and putting Arts in Galway number 1?

My reason for doing this is I've started going out with a girl after the CAO closing date and she's going to Galway and a few of my close friends have also accepted 2nd and 3rd choices in Galway.

Is that really enough of a reason to change college?
No there will not be any way to transfer through the colleges and you would have to wait until next year to change.
You certainly wouldn't be able to do one semester in each university. Different colleges, different reading lists etc
Why did you not pick Galway in first place if some of your close friends are going there.

There's no way for you to enter NUI Galway this year if you've been offered UCC.
What you can do is request a transfer for the 2015/2016 academic year, assuming you complete 1st year in UCC.
The procedure (for last year) is detailed here.
