I have a cow calved a couple of weeks with Mastitis in 1 quarter. When I had her in crush I checked the other teats and noticed that all that was coming out of 1 of them was a pinkish colour liquid with no sign of milk. Is this normal or is this quarter in trouble also. Now it looks like the calf hadn't be sucking this quarter with the pink stuff.
    Any advice appreciated

Has she had milk in it previously?
Is it hard and hot or slack?
Sounds bad for the quarter if it's not milky at all.

sometimes the calf doesnt drink all 4 quarters, so wouldnt worry too much about it, sure if he never drew the spin he wouldnt know about it

Yeah she had loads of milk in it last year. No not hard. It feels normal and no sign of any curds in it at all.

That's what I was hoping. The fact I drew it now would I need to keep it milked until the calf starts to suck it or just leave it.
Have you ever seen milk this pink colour before ?

i would just leave it alone, the calf will only drink what it wants and you could be making more work for yourself by drawing it

No worry sounds like some blood in the milk from a small vein in udder usually clears in a weeks
