as my other half might be heading down the road of driving a car adapted to hand controls, does any one have any pointers for us?

are the controls an add on or are they fitted from factory? if they are factory fit do they ever come on the market as s/h?

as you can imagine she is not thrilled at the thoughts but needs must,,,, any feed back appreciated...

    thanks
    Roy

I've never heard of factory hand controls, one pointer is that once the hand controls are on you can't adjust the steering height so make sure ye can both drive the car (obviously your OH gets priority!)

Cruise control will make life easier too if they're able to operate it.

A friend with Ms has had these on her cars for 15 years or so. She buys new cars and the hand controls are fitted in the dealership. I seem to remember that she generally has them moved from car to car as she upgrades. Her cars have been capable of ordinary operation as well.

They're generally universal alright and seem to be ok to use with knee airbags too.
