it's reduced to £254 on tesco at the moment (black and yellow - SIM free) - absolute bargain. Use parcel motel for delivery (i'm assuming this is still an option from the tesco website...)

They are. Crazy sensor technology, and probably one of the best camera phones out there. Not really 41 megapixels in the typical sense, but not wrong either...

What do you mean? The specs are here. The Zenon Flash and OIS you won't find on many other phones either.

€360 from Amazon so it's a saving of about 20 euro.

You can use 8 or even 38 of the 41 megapixels, it's pretty spectacular - Think of it more for lossless zooming than for actually using the 41 megapixels all the time, if you zoom into 10x, you are still getting a perfect picture once there is no shaking etc.

Great price, been looking to get this or the 930 with a while now... Might hold out to see if the 930 drops to similar pricing before November (got too much on until then to justify any major outlays >.> )

Out of curiosity, for anyone who has one what size is the image file typically if you take a full resolution shot?

    Yep. I did.
    Taxes

By purchasing a product through the Site, customers outside of Hong Kong will normally be subjected to import duties and taxes and any other applicable customs related costs. Customs policies differ from country to country, which may result in indirect customs related costs in addition to the directly related customs costs charged by the courier. Customers typically should contact their local customs office if more information is required about this. Simply Electronics will have no control over applicable customs policies. You agree that you are the sole importer of the product(s) and are responsible for all import duties and taxes, and any related levies for the purchase of your product(s).

just to warn ye guys if ordering from tesco UK and delivering via Parcel Motel if you have to return for any reason the tesco courier will only pick up from delivery point which is Parcel motel depot up north. I had to return lumia phone few months back and turned into a nightmare. was over a month going back and forth between parcel motel and tesco to arrange a pick up. spent weeks not knowing where the phone was. got it returned eventually but was total nightmare

I've got one of these as a work phone. Specifically got it for the camera which, for a phone is pretty damned good :). I use the Nokia Camera App which allows white balance, ISO and shutter speed configuration as well as simpler modes.

My view on this phone is, its a camera attached to a phone and not the other way around as its my first (and last) foray into Windows phone and simply put, if you can put up with no apps that function the way they're expected (sat nav: Here maps for a good example, Skype not allowing you to use your existing Skype account without linking it to an MSN / Hotmail account, Office that is clunky and keeps dropping out...) then its a great phone, oh, and did i mention the utterly utterly crap signal unless you upgrade the firmware to 8.1+ ??

So, yeah, great camera, great phone quality, shame about the operating system...

    FBP.

Why? Since 8.1 I can say The OS is the best I have used for a phone - have used ios7 and most android but the windows phone is easily my favorite.

If you save in DNG format, the resulting file is 47.4 MB.

Not wanting to go way off topic, but TBF I bought one thing once from Simply Electronics and had no problems at all with delivery, customs or anything else. It was around € 150 I think and the experience was very positive. Just think it's worth highlighting that not everyone has a bad experience with them!

Lovely phone, I'll get one when the price drops again. Windows phones are amazing, and the pricing falls through the floor quite quickly in most cases! Although I have been Android for the last year, so I might struggle going back and not having apps like Hailo.

I have read up on the sensor in this seems quite cool to be fair! Although I thought the same about my One M7 and its Ultra Pixel technology. Camera on this went rubbish though.

A good camera for me is really important when I dont have the SLR with me, but I dont know could I do without the apps of Android as Alan said

Have no doubt this device takes fantastic pictures, I personally have the Pureview 808 model, the predecessor to the 1020 and the photos it takes are mind blowing for a phone. I use it for both work and leisure and the image quality is un-believable.

Also throw in the best mobile sat-nav (offline maps I might add) and this phone will make all your other electronic devices obsolete.

Finally wireless charging, really works well with a compatible car cradle:

It still amazes me that people don't wise up to the fact that nokia have been producing the most innovative and ground breaking mobile phone technology for the last 10 years. That price is excellent I am very tempted myself.

I see they have the camera grip case in black too, at £43.95, which is a good price.

I have the Nokia Lumia 930, and while its a "measly" 20MP instead of a monstrous 41MP, pictures I take still amaze people. Nokia are imaging champs. Its a beautiful marriage of software and hardware.

The 930 is only 430€ off contract from most of the major carriers here. A fine price indeed for a new flagship phone.
