Registration closed Friday for camp starting on Monday. We were away and missed the registration deadline. Does anybody know if they will accept registrations and payment on the day?

    Thanks

    Yes.
I doubt any camp would refuse a child.

Half the kids thats turned up weren't registered so no problem doing it on day.

A nightmare for coordinators when it happens like that trying to organise extra kit - but given half the kids that turned up weren't registered, that for me looks like poor organisation

    really?
I've ran camps in the past and it really is weather dependent.
Bad week forcast, very few extra kids.
Good weather promise, overrun with them

The main issue is having enough coaches and equipment to look after the kids

I've coached in quite a few camps, both Cul camps and camps organised by clubs. Running a registration night or during training sessions collects most of them.

Some of the standards of coaching I've seen in Cork are shocking, 15/16 year olds sons/daughters of people within the club given a job "coaching" 6-12 year olds, with no previous experience or qualifications. Numbers at those camps fell dramatically in a few years
