Any advice appreciated. I am no mechanic.

Ford Cmax 2004, 1.8 petrol, Ghia

Wouldn't start yesterday... i.e. ignition lights came on but engine wouldn't turn when I tried to start it.

Started car while someone pushed it for me.

Information on display read: Engine Systems Fault, Speed limited. Car was driving well.

Stopped car. Restarted okay. Same message appeared. Other messages appeared to: power assistance failure (didn't notice same when I turned wheel), also EPB failure... (electronic parking brake)

Couldn't restart car this morning, engine will not turn, no messages displaying.

Checked voltage on battery reading: 11.8 volts. I think it's supposed to be 12volts. Checked oil, was under low mark, I've topped it up.

    Thanks

Does sound a bit like a knackered battery.

    Was it?

Hi, Yes it was the battery after all.

[I assume] The battery did not have sufficient voltage to measure the necessary sensors, so it reported various problems 'Engine system fault', EPB Fault, Power assist fault, and so on.

A mechanic put a new battery in and this resolved the problem.

    Thanks
