    Hi all,
Looking for advice on buying a family car for 11k cash.Am leaning towards a 10\11 insignia diesal. Is it possible to pick one of these for this price or am I dreaming. Was looking at a Mazda 6 but don't like interior, local mechanic told me stay away from Mondeo. Had a 07 Passat until now and broke my heart.Any advice very welcome. Thanks in advance

I'd say you will struggle to get anything decent in those with respectable mileage or spec in 2010/2011 for €11k. Either consider dropping back a year or increasing your budget.

Yea that's what I thought.Just wondering is the insignia the best buy out there in terms of reliability???

They have had their fair share of problems since launch. If reliability is your primary aim then something like an Avensis would fit the bill. Will not set your heart racing but they don't give a lot of bother and you might get a 2009 current shape within budget.

I wouldn't rule out the Mondeo either, the 2.0 TDCi is grand car and probably is if not more reliable than a similar Insignia, they are more realistically within your budget too.

High mileage but on the money.
