Anyone have one? If so, are you using a gopro or the camera that comes with it?

Does anyone know which is better? Gopro you get sound so there's a distinct advantage but as regards picture quality, is the normal camera decent?

I assume your talking about the FC40 camera, it's the only one I see on the site.

I'd assume the GoPro would be much better. The FC40 only records at 720 but it doesn't say much more than that. GoPro can record up to 2K at much higher frame rates and as GoPro is a company that specialises in making a small camera that's used in TV I'd guess the picture quality is going to be much, much better too.

GoPro can record sound but it's not one of the GoPros strengths, it's pretty bad at sound inside of it's protective case and even outside of the case the sound is terrible, most people that would want sound as well would use a separate device.

The fact is the GoPro is a lot of camera for the money, it's well worth it.

I have the phantom and the gopro. Forget sound because all you hear from the phantom is the noise of the motors so you're never going to use the recorded sound anyway. Footage from the GoPro is excellent and you need the high fps to get rid of the dreaded jello effect when recording from the phantom.
