I have 25 cows calving this autumn and that's all I need to fill my contract.
I have 12 heifer calves from last autumn
    Do I
    Sell incalf?
calved next autumn and keep calves?
    Or push them to spring?
where they will be 2.5 yrs old .
My winter herd is perfect mostly 1/2/3rd laction cows so no real need to cull any there..

If you're building numbers I would keep and roll to calve in spring if you don't need em for autumn, they are your stock and the extra 6 months won't make much odds. If you are ok for numbers I would sell calved as there tends to be better money for calved heifers in autumn, those calves could then be sold straight away or kept if needs be depending on the situation at the time

Push to spring with the breed profile in ur herd they should be super heifers at 2.5 yrs old. And would also be good sellers at that age if u wanted to unload them then

The yr after next I hope to be at what numbers I can have here with out taking on more ground. I could milk more cows again if I brought my silage ground in for grazing but I think getting 70 acres will be hard around here.
I have 23 heifers from thus spring too so I'm okay for replacements to spring herd and to keep increasing that section.
If I do keep pushing numbers I will have to do a lot of building work quicker than I would like too.
Had hoped to stuck at 90 for 2-3 yrs and push on again then.
I'd have to nab the 50 acres across the river if I wanted to keep building up cow numbers

Sell and put money away for a rainy day?
Also shows the bank you can live and put away savings making you more favourable for finance down the line if you go building new sheds etc?

Doubt it'd be saved. Us here have a disorder where money can't be left idle :D
It would more than likely would be put straight into farm be it roadways or what ever
