On the lookout for a small engined hatchback for around 3k. I've only ever had 4 doors and while I don't usually carry more than two people something about 4 doors feels better! Cars in the running at the moment include -

Toyota Aygo - cheap to tax, insure and fuel, but interior is a bit cheap and most models are only 2 door

Renault Clio - seems to be everywhere. Looks attractively sporty though

Renault Modus - taken off the Irish market recently and not too well known. That plus a Renault badge = cheap buying costs for a 2006 in decent nick. Bang of old people's car off it though ( Renault's version of the fiat panda)

Renault Twingo - neat little build, cheap as chips

Opel/ Vauxhall Astra - More car for your money's worth, feels like a 'proper' car compared to the others for drives over 30 mins long, more comfortable than some of the city cars mentioned above

    Opinions??
