Power Supply

    Hey,

My parents are looking to replace a power supply for a portable radio, and cannot find the old power supply.

From reading the card on the back of the radio it looks like it takes a dc 3v 250mA power supply.

I have been looking around online for something which matches but cannot find a 3v 250mA power supply. The nearest I can find are universal supplies which have variable voltage and 300mA. These however, based on the reviews, appear to frequently blow up when plugging in or out

Does the voltage / milliamp amount have to match exactly or is there a little leeway with either?

I am not afraid to admit I am clueless about such things.

    Thanks in advance.

I think you'd have more luck in the electronics forums.

300mA could be ok, or it could damage the circuit. Hard to say really.

Some photos or more specs might help.
