Then obviously it'll do a lot more than your phone...

They're brilliant for sofa surfing where a laptop is too big and a phone is too small.
    Great for movies/reading when traveling.
You can use it with a chromecast and netflix as a TV remote.
If you have an Android phone there's a bunch of iOS only apps you can enjoy.

I guess you've yet to experience the sheer joy of iTunes on the PC, then?

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Funsize Mars Bar and mini can of coke is a much cheaper alternative!

You could always donate it to a charity like Barretstown or LauraLynn.. considering you got it for free and don't want it =p

Its a fantastic bit of kit, some of the best money I've ever spent. Its just the perfect size, nice and portable and light but yet a good size for browsing the net, watching sky go etc.

I used to think tablets were kind of gimmicky until I got a gift of a sony tablet S. I used it to watch movies etc while travelling. Found it great. I then upgraded/downgraded to a iPad mini as the sony was a bit heavy and it's pretty much become an extension of my arm. I very rarely sit down in front of the computer to browse the internet/ watch films.

You can comfortably hold it in your left hand while browsing the internet, leaving the other hand free.

Depends on your interests....if you just want something to browse the web with, watch videos etc. Do that. If not...sell it :)

It's not a great tablet for being productive with.

Download the weighing scales app for it and try it out!

Lots of games make it to iOS first.
There's a few multiplayer games that are limited to Apple's Game Centre such as Carcassonne. Are FTL and Spacechem out in Android yet? Those are feeling great!

iPads are great for browsing/movies/music/games, useless if you actually want to do work on them though.

That's been my experience too. The touch is fine for casual stuff...the Citrix Receiver works ok on the iPad but the touch hinders things. Somebody I worked with was doing some work from home on it, with a simple slip of a finger she took down a bunch of workers. Also, the fact the applications don't appear to be multi-threaded make them pretty inflexible.

The Surface has a better touch but has it's own set of problems, mainly reliability and the cost of the Pro model! I will say, it's great for productivity on the go. I use it in meetings, OneNote on one side of the screen and e-mail or possibly a webinar on the other side. I can also have media playing while doing my work or playing a game.

it's a great size for putting under the leg of a wobbly table or chair.
