    Hi,

I'm working on models for the anatomy department in university. I have access to a 3D printer- that requires STL files, as the models are for veterinary use, I need access to animal anatomy, rather than human. There are not many STL files available online as regards animal anatomy. I do however, have access to CT scans which are in DICOM format. So my question is, can you convert DICOM to STL, and if so, how?

Blender is a great 3D tool for modelling and has 3D print tools.
Here is a guide for getting DICOM into blender:

Any of you guys buy or build a 3D printer?

I'm looking at designing and building one from scratch, over time (probably a lot of time)... interested in open-hardware and open-source only...

If anyone has links to Irish groups, forums, part suppliers etc., please post them...

    Mike
