Wild Camping near Glenmalure Lodge??

Looking for some advice. There is a group of us going camping at the weekend, our plan was to go as far as Glenmalure lodge, get a feed into us, leave the cars there and then go find a spot to camp.
Does anyone know if this is feasible?. Were a lazy ole bunch, and would be looking to walk for no more than say 1 hour?
Does anyone know if we would find a suitable spot that your allowed to set up camp within an hours walk? Or less preferably.
Also would it be OK to leave the cars at Glenmalure Lodge?.Thanks.

    1. Ok to leave car in Glenmalure Lodge

Are you looking to wild camp or just pitch a tent in a field within walking distance back to the lodge for drinks etc?

Thanks for the reply. We're looking to wild camp, we'll be bringing a few cans with us. Do you know will we have far to go to find a spot far enough away from civilisation? Thanks

    Hi ,
If you follow the path up from the lodge you will walk into a large valley , ive wild camped in the area beside the waterfall b4 and had no problems , its a little over an hours walk but well worth it . leave it as you find it .. Regards, Liam.
