Unusual driving experience - photo been taken by a passenger in another car

This morning I was commuting to work (1 hr drive), exiting the small town of Innishannon where the road divides into 2 lanes.
Before the lanes separate out there are 2 lorries & 5 cars in front of me , as I approach the separated lanes the 2 lorries stay in the “slow lane” & the 5 cars enter the overtaking lane. There is a car in front of me continuing on the overtaking line , as we reach the end of the overtaking lane the silver car in front of me looks like he is going to overtake a 3rd lorry , seeing this I too get ready to overtake however at the last minute the car in front brakes & decides not to overtake , I in turn break , I will admit I was probably a bit too close to him, so now both cars are behind the lorry. Once the road straightens out the passenger of the silver car in front of me turns & takes a picture of me/my car then overtakes the lorry on a continuous white line & speeds off. It could have been a “scare tactic” & I always thought taking a picture of someone in a personal environment (like their car/ their garden) was illegal without their permission , could be completely wrong.
Granted I was in the wrong being a bit close to him, (however im sure I’m not the only out there that has made that mistake) but now I am worried that I will end up getting called to court or something – I am not a tailgater, although I do encounter them every day in my daily commute to work but usually end up moving over to leave them overtake etc.
Just wondering has anyone else ever experienced something like this & if so what was the outcome ?

Unfortunately not illegal to photograph someone at home/ in car/ walking down the street.
I agree though, just forget about it, that is probably the last of it.

    You're completely wrong ;)

A photographer in a public place can take photos of whatever they like.

I got overtaken once by a car that then slowed down and let me past again and was videoing me....I figured he liked my car, who wouldn't! I also got photographed by some guys in a Mk1 escort in the UK this year...mind you I was in a mK2 Transit, so that may explain it :-)

    Why unfortunately?

Ahh, you do realise there's a contradiction in your post????

If someone is misbehaving on the road, and I'm in the passenger seat, I'll always take a photo/video. Saves all the BS if anything happens.

Hope you get convicted and learn your lesson. There's far too much tailgating on Irish roads. Start driving safely and you won't have to worry about someone else taking photos of you.

    Edit:

OK maybe this is a bit harsh. I hope you learn your lesson court or no court and never ever tailgate. It is the most crazy thing a driver can do and in this country drivers seem to have no concept of the dangers. We all make mistakes driving but there is never an excuse for tail gating.

If its not safe to overtake then don't attempt your overtake until it is safe.
