Most trade quality stains are all relatively similar. Sikkens, Ronseal and Johnstone's are top brands. However, it depends on the type of wood you are painting (is it pressure treated) and the finish you want. Johnstone's do a wider range and also tint colours in woodstains and fence paints. So a much larger selection overall. But typically, and of the brand names won't let you down once it's the right product for the job.
