On 5th August I ordered some packs of hypo-allergenic sanitary towels from an ebay seller. I've used the seller many times before for buying dog treats and the dog treats always arrived within 3 days. Three days later I found out that these sanitary towels may be discontinued soon, so on 8th August I ordered some more from the same seller. A week later, none of them had arrived so I emailed the seller. She said they were sent second class standard with no way to track them. However she didn't post them as quickly as usual. She said she posted the first lot on 8th August and 2nd lot on 12th August. She asked me to wait a few more days and check that they weren't stuck at my local depot. Well, they are not at the depot. If I wait until tomorrow it'll be three days since she asked me to wait. How long do you think is reasonable? During this time I've ordered numerous other things from ebay and amazon, all of which have already arrived. I'm going to need the towels soon. If they don't arrive tomorrow do you think it would be alright for me to ask her to re-send the towels? By then it will be 11 days since I ordered the first batch and 8 since I ordered the second batch. I could always offer to pay the extra if the first lot ever show up.

I just looked on the seller's ebay page and she only has 8 left in stock. Would this make it more reasonable to ask her to re-send sooner? Because if she sells those and runs out and can't get any more I'll be left with nothing.

If she has already sent them she is unlikely to re-send them

If they are not tracked , its impossible to know if they are at local depot . If shipped in UK 5-6 days grace would be more reasonable .

If shipped within Ireland , postage rates have increased in late July , so could be held up if correct price is not used.

No matter how you paid you will have online buyer protection.

You checked her eBay page and it said she has only 8 left in stock . - This is not necessarily true , as it only indicates that she has only 8 left for sale on eBay .

    Communication is the key .

I think I have had to wait up to 3 weeks to get slow post from the UK.

"2nd class standard" seems to be UK only. So I am guessing it is the cheap international one.

International Economy is the affordable answer to posting overseas when you’re not in a rush. It’s easy to use and ideal for heavier items. Compensation is included and we aim to deliver your mail to:
Western Europe in up to 2 weeks
Eastern Europe in up to 5 weeks
North America in up to 6 weeks
South America, Africa and Asia in up to 8 weeks
Australia in up to 12 weeks

I live in England. It's been 11 days since I ordered the first batch, so I really thought they should be here by now.

    • England to England
    • England to Ireland
    • Ireland to England
    • Ireland to Ireland

Tomorrow will be about 2 weeks since I ordered the first batch. They surely shouldn't take 2 weeks to get from Bristol to Devon. If they don't arrive tomorrow do you think it would be reasonable to ask her to re-send them?
