How to get the plans to a house

I am looking at buying a second hand house which will need some work. The house was built in the early 80s and a few extensions done on it since.
Where is the easiest place to get the plans for this house?
Is it possible to get the online?
    Whats the cost?

    Thanks

Try the local county council website. some, maybe all have an enquiry system. If the extensions were built in the last few years you may find the full application online.

Look for the planning application details at the county council offices. It will have the architect details on them. The architect should have a fully marked up set of as built drawings on file
