Does anyone know what sections supervalu GAA tickets are in? Do they have a particular section like Ticket.ie and Ticketmaster.

They are what are for sale on Tickets.ie. Supervalu are an agent for Tickets.ie. The only difference between buying on Tickets.ie and Supervalu is it costs €1 to have your tickets posted to you.

On tickets.ie, you also have the option to print the ticket off yourself, or pick it up at the venue on the day. Why anyone would cough up money to have it posted out to you is beyond me.

If you want a genuine looking ticket ahead of time it makes sense I guess.

You can print your ticket off at home. The ticket comes in an email with a pdf file attached. If you don't have a printer, you can simply email it to someone who has.

That seems like an awful lot of bother if you dont have a printer, rather than just stumping up the 1.50 and getting it sent to you. I guess for people too who like to keep/collect their tickets from matches its more authentic looking than a sheet of paper.

Yeah, I know. And you get a crappy piece of A4 paper.

Some people might prefer a 'proper' ticket.

Would you be better off buying them from the ticket van at Croke Park on the day - I used to do that and you'd get decent lower Hogan tickets. The ones available on ticketmaster and tickets.ie are all in the corner.

Fairly decent central upper hogan available on tickets.ie now, taking a chance in the hope of getting good lower level tickets by leaving it to Sunday. Upper Davin also available so obviously big crowd expected.

Yeah actually those upper hogan aren't bad at all - maybe I'll go for those.

County Board Offices get good tickets too. Got 331 Hogan tickets from the Galway branch.

Well fair enough so. I guess we just put different values on what we consider worth spending our moolah on.

Was it available to for 'General Sale' to anybody, or do you know someone there?

General sale. Just pop in to the office and they print off tickets. Completely different tickets on offer to ticketmaster or tickets.ie.

Oh right. I never knew you could buy tickets that way (from a county board whose county wasn't actually playing in the game). You learn something new everyday! :)

Didn't know that at all - is that the case in every county?

Well Galway are playing in the minor so I couldn't say for certain if every county board has an allocation. The lady there said there was a scandalously low take-up so far from Galway fans, surprise surprise.

Ah yes I had forgotten that Galway were in the minor match.

What I want to know about the Centra & SuperValu tickets is when can they start counting the tickets I buy to either give discounts to frequent buyers or make tickets available to people who have bought in the past first. FFS, I got to Tesco and they send me vouchers for products, I go to Topaz and they enter me into a competition & give me free stuff, I go to Costa and they know what coffee I like so the technology is there, just use it.

Yes there should be some sort of loyalty scheme allright ,its a bit ludicrous allright.

Lots of good tickets available on tickets.ie for the match tomorrow now, they are at their usual trick of selling off the junk tickets in the corners first whilst holding back the best seats till till the last few days .

If you go frequently would the Season Ticket not be the better option? 1st championship game free, 5e discount every game, good seats for championship games.
I dont think people could ask for much more than that to be honest.

Its 85 euro for a season ticket which is pretty steep .
I also go to matches with friends and family so prefer to get seats together ,this isnt an option with the season ticket unless we all buy one .

If you regularly buy tickets for your counties matches on tickets.ie then I think you should get some sort of a presale option for the latter stage matches .
Its alot fairer than the crowd jumping on the bandwagon for the final who havent attended a match all season.

But if you all go to all the matches then would it not be the best option for yourself personally? For the championshop you can email them and get out of any match and get your own ticket. You just get your card scanned then as you go in with your friends/family. You would still save money I'm pretty sure.
85e is excellent value and it has saved me a few euro over the last 4 years to be honest.
The final bandwagoners will get no tickets on tickets.ie as they will have none.
Tbh your better getting all tickets through your club as its the safest bet if your from a successful county

I think you can only opt out of one match in the championship.
So you would be sitting on your own for the remainder of the matches.

Yeah but they will get plenty off the clubs.

Thats true but you will often find its who you know in the club rather than what matches you have attended that's more important.

1 official opt out to preserve attendance / etc.
Pretty sure you can reject their ticket anytime though if you are getting your tickets from club/other source. Through this you can get your ST card scanned, 1 mate from Meath does this every year I am 99% sure - can anyone shed any light on this?

Yeah unfortunately that can be the case, luckily I am from a small club that actually got more tickets than members last time we made the AI in 2012 and the fact a few of us had STs aswell meant we actually had a draw for spare tickets if my memory serves me correctly.
I imagine some of the huge clubs in Dublin might be a nightmare.

Yeah you do have a valid point, many people attend matches on tickets.ie tickets and then they are left in the lurch at the business end of the season. Hard to know what kind of loyalty scheme they can put in place though as I am sure the GAA top brass view their ST as the perfect loyalty scheme with its free 1st game, etc.

Depends. I know of clubs in Donegal where membership has swelled and there won't be enough tickets to go around if (and that's a massive if...) we make the Final. Problem will probably go away if/when Jim leaves. But pretty sure that it's been the same in Mayo in recent years as well.

Also, club tickets can be much worse than ST and even Supervalu/Centra/Tickets.ie - I saw pictures from last weekend confirming this and no it from 2011 myself.

Well he says a ST is not an option. He buys from tickets.ie who will have no tickets.
In this case and in the case of an successful county if you can not go down the ST route then I feel the club is 100% the best option in this case.

Depends on how much club membership is and if you would buy it anyway I suppose. Not suggesting for a moment that people should avoid supporting the clubs of course.
