Hi Guys, And Gals. I was lucky enough short chat with
Alan Grant over the weekend And it
had Me thinking about when I started taking Comics seriously.

I started with Beano, Dandy, Buster, Wizzer & Chips and all the
Kids comics available. Then Tiger, Eagle, Battle and My all time
favorite, 2000AD . In all the Years since two story's have always
stuck in My head, The death of Charley Bourne's brother Wilf In
Charley's War and The short lived "Invasion 1984" By John Wagner
    and Eric Bradbury.

Now Charleys war has been reprinted many
times But Invasion has ,to My knowledge, never got a reprint.
Anyone remember this? Or am I just too old. :P

I don't know about reprinting for invasion. But it has defo gotten a Trade at some point.
But i will say I mostly looked it up due to the Savage stories done last decade.

Charelys war was devastating in its telling's. Don't recall a more Brutal book with its characters.

I too did all the Kiddy books back in the Day. Mostly while waiting on the bus in Clondalkin Village.

Big one for me was of course M.A.S.K
    1470130_617883771604551_1926439384_n.jpg1472877_617883768271218_2059954041_n.jpg?oh=359adffacae5c7c32590e88fdb4ac7e6&oe=5474781F&__gda__=1415289732_c699471e1ae2ee2103afe8a0d7b89023

And Transformers UK was like nothing I had ever seen before.
The entire Marvel UK books where a great boon for those of us who didn't know how to get american comics outside odd bookstore that occasionally got them in. Even if the titles where a tad odd at times. Plus action force did some trippy stuff with the GI Joe characters.

I think You might be mistaking Invasion 1984 with Invasion 1999 from 2000AD, That defo got a trade, But this one was about an Alien Invasion that was systematically killing off the human race, It was the callous killing of men women and children that stayed with Me all these years. It was in Battle in 1983 and ended in December of that Year, Just before the beginning of 1984.

I Just did a Google of Champ, I had completely forgotten about that one,

It was relesed around the same time as Scream,

and I was more of a Horror fan than football. Thanks for the reminder :)

Still have the first 130 odd editions programmes of 2000AD (bar the first 4 :()

    Also have the complete Starlord

Alas I didn't keep ACTION! the early ones would be worth a few bob by now I'd say for sheer notoriety.

I recall it alright. I remember one scene in particular where the aliens would drill into peoples skulls and put control circuits into their brains to turn them into drones. Eric Bradbury was a very underrated artist, he could do horror stuff really well.

I have over 200 Warlords from the late 70s early 80s in quite good condition. I wonder how much they are worth now?

If anyone wants to go really retro try checking out http://comicbookplus.com all free and legal, out of copyright stuff. I think the latest is around the 1960's.
