Looking at flying to vegas in march and on the day Im flying the only flights available all seem to go through England. Is it true that flying from Dub - london and then to Vegas will mean going through Customs twice, Once in Dublin and Once in London?

No, you will do immigration & customs only once, when you land in the US, if flying indirect via the UK

This can't be right, there are flights to Vegas every day from the eastern seaboard.

What sites are you using for flights?

    Try www.skyscanner.ie and http://matrix.itasoftware.com/

You only go thru Customs & Immigration in Ireland, if you are flying directly to the US from an Irish airport, with no stops or transfers along the way. If you are going to the US via the UK, you are not doing that. So you'll do the Customs and Immigration check when you get to the States. You won't do it in London either. There may be an additional security check in London, but the official C & I check will be done in the US.
