Does an accident on my policy effect the driver on his own seperate policy?

My partner had an accident in our car a while back. The insurance is in my name and he is a named driver. When he is looking for a quote for his own policy on a different car does he tell the company he was involved in an accident or is it irrelevant because it happened on my policy and it's my no claims that's affected?…

Indeed it's your no claims bonus which is affected, but as you said - he had an accident (I assume his fault) so he needs to inform his new insurer.
