Co-habiting - reduced payment

My partner and I are co-habiting and on JA at the moment (usually BTEA). We have both been receiving a reduced rate of €156 each for the last 3 years and never questioned it. However, I was told recently by a friend that since my partner is 30, he should receive the full €188, and should have been receiving it since he was 28. Does anybody know if this is correct? We've never questioned it as we're just grateful for the assistance through college, but if he is entitled to that extra €30 it would make a welcome addition!

I presume you are both getting €156.40 each. That is the correct payment. Personal rate of €188 and ADA of €124.80 = €312.80 split between you both is €156.40 each.
