Interview process/panel vs Time

    Hopefully someone can assist.

In the company I work for, a job was interviewed for 2/3 months ago. A successful candidate was offered and accepted the job.

Now a similar if not exact same role has been made availble. Is there any law that states a new interview process needs to be started or is there a time period where the old interview panel is available for selection without starting a new round of interviews.

The company are using the old panel and old interviews to assign the role. Just wanting to know if this is the norm?

    Public or private sector?

If private, then I don't think they're even legally required to interview at all. They simply aren't allowed to discriminate on The Big Nine, and interview notes can be a handy way of proving that they didn't.
