Bravo immobiliser question

Does anyone know anything about bypassing an immobiliser on a 2001 Fiat Bravo? It has an intermittant issue where it doesn't recognise the code from the key, the key code light is lit on the dash, and hence won't start. Sometimes it works fine and the light doesn't come on, other times it won't. Both keys have the same result. I checked the aerial cable for the immibiliser and that looks fine.
I think to bypass it, from looking on line you need to reprogram the ECU to not look for a code. Does anyone know someone who can do this? Or is there another way?

No, but I did think about the battery. It's probably over 4 years old now. Maybe I could try changing that? Although the car does start first go on the occasion that the key code light does go out. It only happened on Monday, no issue before that at all.
I have the code card, and tried the manual input method for the code but that didn't work for some reason.
    PM sent though!
