    Hey.

I've my retina MBP just a year now and over the past month or so I've notched the cable is starting to turn a yellowish colour near where it connects to the magsafe 2 head. Is this normal wear and tear or something I should be worried about?

    Thanks.

Seems like its a bit of wear/tear or the cable going past the point of flexibilty

Are you guilty of this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1630

95% of the time it sits on my desk with the chord stretched out perfectly with no sharp bends or kinks so don't think it's any of the above. I think its out of the year warranty by 2 weeks, reckon I'd get away with asking for a replacement? Also, bought the MB in the States so would the Apple store in Belfast even look at it?

Well, If the charger cable is slightly discoloured but the charger is working fine and its not as suggested in the article I linked then chances are, it could have been discoloured by natural light i.e. Sunlight.
