I'm not happy where I am

I am looking for some advice on what to do. What would other people do in my shoes.

I finished college over a year ago and I have been unsuccessful getting work. I have been unemployed ever since. I live in a rural area and its not easy. I have to do something and I intend to move to England in four weeks time. I have everything planned and the flight booked. Coming from a rural area, people must be thinking why would I be willing to move to England and skip Dublin. There are a lot more opportunities in England with the qualification I have.

I would much prefer moving over searching for work, as mad as it is. I don't care if I end up working in a bar until I find something suitable.

My problem is I have been offered work here but its not even full time work. Im only coming out with a little over 220 a week. Because its in a rural area, I would need to get a car (I can kiss my England savings goodbye).

On top of this, I am not happy living at home. I don't want to get into it here. Living on a wage of 220 a week, its between the running of a car, petrol, tax, insurance. I wont be able to afford to move out and pay rent.

Would I be mad to move to England, with no work going over and being more happier in trying.

You won't know until you try, will you?

Whereabouts in England are you going? Have you done your research??

Make contact with an Irish centre: good advice available. Plan the move carefully. You don't want negative people knocking you more if it doesn't work out. It's your chance for your life so go for it. Don't hold back.

Living on €220 less car expenses. Sorry, that's not living!
Yea, go to England. It's an experience, and many cities are much nicer than Dublin.

Don't move unless you have a job lined up

I don't necessarily agree. If there are career prospects it makes sense to be in the city where you're looking for work. Better than sticking around rural Ireland on €220 a week.

What line of work are you qualified to work in? Where are you thinking of moving too? Loads of us live and work in the UK in possibly a similar industry to your own chosen career.

I think you should move to the UK.

Where in the UK are you thinking of moving?

    What are you qualified in?

I am also in your situation with no work here and have a car. I had to move back in with my mother. And am really thinking of moving over to London.

I wish you the best of Luck. You should go and try it out.

Nearly every graduate finds it tough to land their fitst job. No one can really help unless you tell us what your qualified in.

Have you tried any call centers?
