Ok so dont know anything bout satalites or free to air stations. We had basic upc package in our old house. Any ideas on what we should get. Watch mostly basic channels... ie bbc rte ch4 really.. then my hubbie would love the setanta for sports... he streams most matches now but its a bit hit and miss. Whats this bout…

freeway box & saorview TV to get the UK/Irish channels and then an Android/xbmc media box for online content.

Dreambox for picking up Sports etc unless your paying sky for it is illegal, and can't be discussed here. (Meaning Cardsharing)

Setanta do stand alone deals at the moment. I got it last night for €9.99 a month for 3 months.

Your best bet would be the Sat dish with the basic free channels... You get a list here of what you can pick up for a one-off payment..

You won't get any of the Irish channels via dish though unless you pay for it. Best bet is Saorview.

Ah ha! Brilliant thanks for clearing it up a bit for me... personally could do without the sports but the boss will deffo want it.
