The best way is via Milltown, Castlemaine and Inch. Shortest and with good views too for parts of the way. Takes about an hour though at this time of the year with visitors etc it could be a little longer.
From Killarney go towards Fossa on the N70, turn right to the R563 to Milltown, rejoin the N70, on to Castlemaine and turn left in the village to the R561. The road is fine but there are few opportunities to overtake so jusr relax and take your time. Beware of a narrow bridge in Listry and the Main St in Milltown where you have to yield to N70 traffic as it enters from your left.

The other route on much better roads is from Killarney to Tralee on the N22 - then on the Tralee bypass just turn left and follow the signs for the N86. As you get near Camp you have a choice of veering left with the main road and going via Annascaul and Lispole or going straight ahead and over the Conor Pass. Great views but if its cloudy etc dont bother. Total time this way is about 75-80 minutes.
