    Hi Guys,

I've had a look online but can't seem to find much info...that was helpful should i say.

I am currently working and living in Australia but want to return home to Ireland next year, I'm from Dublin originally and was planning to move up North when I return.

I will be out of work unless I can sort a job before I get there so I am wondering being from the Republic of Ireland am I entitled to claim the likes of Job seekers up the north?

Also what would the eligibility/criteria be if any one knows? All advise appreciated.

    Cheers

Why not Google it like I did:)? Looks like you have to have paid in. If you're under 25 it's peanuts!

If you even came back to Dublin now to claim, your being Irish would not be any advantage to you. You would still have to fulfill the HRC.
So considering NI is a different juridisiction, you may as well land in Belgium or Italy and ask for Benefits.

I did have a look through the site, but I have been out of Ireland for over 2 years already and it will be 3 by the time I get home. Not being from the north I didn't know if there wa anything I may need or if I would be entitled to anything.

I have savings here which may cover me back home but just want to cover everything.

At the moment you're not entitled to any from NI or ROI (habitual residency etc).

They say that, but my brother came home and got benefits easy enough before heading back out there!
He has a house here which he moved back in to. I think things like showing you cut ties to the country you were living in (such as closing your bank account there) can show Ireland is your centre of interest.
