Good Diesel for around 4k?

    Hi, im looking to buy a car in the next few weeks and looking to get some opinions.
    What do ye think is the best diesel car for around 4,000 euro? Looking for one around a 2 liter.

    I am up for most cars as long as they are pretty reliable with decent spec.

    Thanks for any advise.

    Something with a 1.9 TDI would be my choice at that money.
    A3/A4/Golf/Leon/Toledo/Octavia/Passat etc etc

    Any reason to go for a 1.9 instead of a 2 litre passat/a4 etc?

    That generation of passat seemed to cause a lot of trouble. Flywheel issues (all modern diesels suffer from this though), electronic handbrake problems, electronic issues. Try and go for the older generation b5 or b5.5 if you are going for a passat.
