Brake Calliper fell off

I got new pads and discs on the back of the car about 6 weeks ago from a fairly well known garage. Driving home from work on Friday and the drivers side rear calliper fell off. Noticed about 10% of the brake power when I hit the brakes got out of the car and couldnt see anything. Drove slowly another 20 feet, pressed the brakes and got nothing and heard a bang. Got out and there is the calliper on the inside of the rim.
The garage took the car back on Sat and have fixed it for collection later on. Question here is that am I reasonable in expecting some form of voucher or something from them on top of them fixing the car (obviously for free).
I know it sounds weird looking for some future work from them considering what happened but if I was on the motorway etc it could have been a different story, thankfully all this happened at low speed.

With wheels, they say to inspect the bolts after how ever many KM, but they can not reasonably expect you to monitor how the caliper bolts are faring.

You may not get anything at first, but a VW dealer made a mistake on the brakes on my car. There was a lot of messing with them over email, but once I got frustrated enough I emailed VW Europe and I had a call from the dealer later that day, very apologetic and offering parts for free. A complete 180 on their previous stance.

I had pictures of brake problem, but the garage taking your car back in for a fix is proof enough that there was a problem.

Thats crazy, after doing this job myself its very hard to mess it up, they must have forgotten to tighten the caliper bolts.

I worked in a garage where a guy came in complaining of a knocking niose in his Range Rover. Turns out a well known Southside Landrover dealers mechanics had replaced the front pads and failed to refit the lower bolt on the caliper on both sides. The guy in question, a doctor or solicitor or something like that didn't take kindly to it. I believe the courts were involved.

It's not the first piece of shocking workmanship I've seen cime from that garage.

Thats what it looked like to me, the bolts came out, they didnt shear/snap, they were just missing and the thread on the calliper was fine.

I know when I was replacing the front calipers on Jeep grand cherokee I receive new bolts and locking compound along with instructions and torque settings.

and no dont ever go back after this!!! try a new garage from now on that was just way to dangerous,

You were lucky ! Potentially a dangerous scenario, which is why caliper bolts tend to be made of highly-spec'd metal, with a torque specification and threadlock or something similar to prevent them backing out.

Follow up with the garage. I would be pretty strong with them given the safety aspect.
