Default search engine cannot be changed

Ok, so Microsoft won't let me set Google as default search engine. Only Bing can be used now (some phones may still have option).
This sucks big time as Bing just isn't a very good search engine compared..

This came in with Windows Phone 8.1 - if there's enough of a backlash, I'm sure it'll be changed

Yeah, not all phones affected. May be because of region and/or updates/model/whatnot.

The choice is still there on my 1020. I try use Bing when I can but Google obviously has better search results as more people use it.

What would be nice if we could change the function of the search button instead of just inside IE. It is never going to happen though.

Ah, I didn't realise it varied - I can change my search provider on the 1020 (CV GBIE) but not the 1520 (also CV GBIE) it seems. Both are running Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1.
