Hi guys, looking for advice, getting two bathroom floors re tiled so how handy is it to remove the toilet and sink and put them back. In theory it looks straight forward enough, are there any pitfalls I should be aware of. Thanks.

Really depends on what's there. If there's tiles already there then pipe adjustments won't be an issue. I'd change the multiwick on the toilet for sure as they can leak once reused

You may heed to instal some valves or caps in the lines so you can turn the water back on

I always suggest divers use flex is when doing this, so why the new stuff goes bak in there will be no trouble.

    Ie

1/2flex braided hose for the toilet with an ISO valve.
Flexi pan connector for th toilet.

If you have a mono sink Mxr it will have flexi's in all probability but the pipes might need to be slightly lengthen

Thanks for the replies guys, will have to use blanks alright so i can turn the water back on. Never thought of replacing the multiwick dtp, thanks for that. the tile im re tiling with is slightly thicker than the original so there might be an issue with the length of the pipe when re connecting to the cistern. The pipe in question is (qualpex or acorn) out of the floor and the rest into the cistern is copper. Is that normal? Why not go all flexi pipe?

All flexi would look terrible. Is it a timber floor or concrete

Timber floor, both are upstairs, going to use perma matting underneath the tiles to help with stability.

If your cistern is hanging on the wall and has a right angle pipe feeding into the back of the bowl, replace the seal, called a wc connector, between the pipe and toilet bowl.

Yeah had never thought of that until someone mentioned it earlier, thanks!

When disconnecting the water feed to the cistern, am I better disconnecting it from the flexi pipe fitting or the copper fitting!
