I am in need of jacket/shorts for the colder season. I intend to do between 40-60km a day, as frequent as work/home arrangements will allow me. I have my bibs/jersey and would need something to put on top for colder-rainy days.

Not sure if Castelli Gabba is the right choice as I don't need another jersey. I have leg and arm warmers - so need shorts to keep me warm and dry.

It's August. It's an illegal question now.

I'd be interested in the same... as I look out the window and the rain is whoring down!

Merino base layer, long sleeve jersey, merino socks, neoprene over shoes, winter leggings, gilet, gloves and mudguards are all you need for the coldest, wettest days in Ireland, IMHO.

Rain jackets are fine but theres a tendency to over heat in them, so quick drying materials are a good option. Also - clear lenses for your glasses.

DHB do a good winter gilet, although I currently have safety pins keeping the pockets shut on my one.

Mods, I think omri should be banned for using the "W" word; it's completely unacceptable behaviour.

For mid season use, I find these great:

They are heavier than your average shorts and work great with leg warmers.

There should be a Boards.ie winter order coming soon.
