I'm looking at a document from Find My Past entitled Landed Estates Court Rentals. The tenant name is Anne O'Neill (Rep. of Peter O'Neill, sen.). Assuming Rep. is short for Representative, why is this so as I believe Peter was alive at this time and I don't believe he would have been away sailing the high seas or anything like that.

Could "sen" stand for "senile" maybe?

I've never seen anything like it. If the word representative is used, it does usually mean deceased, possibly without a will, or some kind of land agent.

I'm assuming sen. means senior as Peter O'Neill jun. is the next entry.

Right. I'd guess some sort of incapacity but still alive.

Seems to refer to Peter O'Neill senior, since Peter O'Neill junior is listed below.

Hmm...so there's nothing definite to be inferred from 'Rep. of Peter O'Neill, sen.'?
Back to the drawing board so.

Could have been dead but pre probate, or alive but using an agent.
