If you are using mains water on a farm you should be paying for it anyway, just like any other business does.

so its ok to make farmer pay for domestic water use but business man, developers, gangsters, bankers and hedge fund managers gets allowance if living away from premises is that you view. personally my view is family living on business premises,be it hotel, B&B, butcher, farmer, publican, grocer, tinsman sculptor, the list goes on are entitled to same domestic allowance as family in own house, regardless. but maybe democracy has new meaning nowadays . like banker and insurance salesman whose company i was in one night remarked unemployed getting social welfare were cause of country being like it is,and there was no sense to amount paid in pensions.

Paying for domestic water at home, and the farm business should be paying for the tap in the yard. Drill a well, we've 3.

fair enough ,water used for farm use should be paid for, but that is not point here. now if you get bill as in Country Lad's point of €240 my understanding of explanation by an ~Bord Uisce, as farmer you will then get another bill for the number of litres that the €240 would exempt you from in your home + bill for additional meters, ie if your bill as in neighbour case here locally was €1600 for 12 months you would expect that would be end of story , now according to explanation given in newspaper during week you will get additional bill for the number of litres the €240 would cover.in effect all water is metered, no allowance. they have admitted there is a problem with that and to make all things equal if you get my drift there is a fear billing shopkeepers ( businesses )in similar fashion if resident on business premises.
at present there is basic bill of €45
domestic allowance in my bill is presently around €46 and covers X litres after 1/1/2015 that X litres will be billed separately, by Cork Co Council, but basic fee of €240 will apply then even if no water is used by Bord Uisce . 2 water billers or Quango's, min ~water bill €300, if prices dont rise. BTW i also have deep well and gravity water feed on farm

no apology needed, its a bloody minefield of proposals, 2 crowds issuing bills, 2 crowds not interacting ,id say all will want to watch their finances dealing with this one , so much for Government proposal to reduce number of quangos , they added this one who for eg. refused to meet Cork Co Council to discuss water related issues last week or so. the Councils must tender to provide water services to areas yet , quango Bord Uisce ignore all attempts to get answers re sorting water supply problems yet will respond if asked about installing water meters within 36 hrs and send out crews almost immediately to install meters.its another HSE type solution re the Health Boards IMO.look what a mess that is .

All house-hold taxes went into setting up this Quango on same footing as Bord Gais and were supposed to be part of Bord Gais, but Hogan separated them into 2 separate entities so as result of getting Household Tax funding to set up, yet having done Zilch other than draw their salaries were seen to be a profitable organisation so all managers were entitled to Bonus ( in thousands of Euros )as result, some very high figures were mentioned but ive forgotten now, now Hogan was promoted or dumped into Europe to spend his final years boosting his massive {size} by now Pension
