Looking for Advise Please (head injury)

I am not sure where to start with this

Been feeling ill for many years now

I was a perfectly healthy teenager and something happened to me

a physical injury to the head , since it happened to me i have never felt the same as before it happened

I was afraid to go for medical advise at the time and thought the injury would eventually heal itself but here i am over 10 years later and i still can feel it effecting me

I am constantly tired and weak and i know it is down to what happened many years ago

I got some courage up a few years back and went to a doctor and showed him the injury as it is still visable to this day

He was a pretty old doctor and i am not sure what he thought but he sent me for a scan anyway

I was expecting a proper scan , like into a big machine to scan the whole head ,

But i only got a x-ray on my head like if i had a broken arm , it wasn't a proper full ct scan

Well anyway nothing came back and i was made feel as if i must have been imagining everything and all the usual , got sent for a few blood tests but nothing



But , i know my body and i know something is not right , i have been feeling so **** for so long that it has become normal to me ,,,, i don't want to feel like this anymore

A few symptoms i feel since it happened are , tiredness , dizzyness , can't stand sunlight on my skin , and i am always pale looking

Is there anywhere in Dublin i can go , where i can get a proper examination and a proper diagnosis

How much is private treatment ? and is it worth going down that route

Just looking for some advise and help if possible

I always get the usual , "you must be anemic "stuff but they hospital checked for that before

I am lost and need someone to point me in the right direction

That sounds like an awful way to live. Private MRI of brain isnt that expensive, but I think you would need a referral from your GP. I paid for my first and second MRI and they were both around €200 I think. Euromedics offer private scans. I hope you now have a doctor who is proactive and will try to help. Best of luck

I would see another doctor and explain your symptoms to him ask him to refer you to a neurologist although if you go public you could be waiting anything from to 8 mts to a year. Know someone who went to see a neuro private about a year ago e250

Thanks so much for the advise so far , i am going to go see a doctor this week and hopefully i can try sort this out once and for all
