Marks & Spencer Ireland have a Friends and Family off on this weekend with 20% off all this weekend, off clothes and home, with the code AUG14R5. I tried it this morning and it works. Online only and it lasts until Aug 12.

Hi. I went on the M + S website to order school uniforms and use the discount code. There isn't anywhere to enter the code before I put in my payment details! Sorry, new to boards and not sure how things work yet.

Go to view bag at the top right hand corner, school down to your last item and underneath it there is a box "enter promotion code".

If your order is over €35 you can enter another code "NEWSLETTER5" which will give. You get an additional €5 off :)

It didn't work on my school uniform items.

Have had the same before in that discounts won't work on school uniforms. Have seen some cheap tricks by them too where they move certain kids vests and socks etc into school wear and cannot get the deals on them either.

They did a 20% specifically off school uniforms a few weeks back so maybe they might do another one again soon.

Used this code with the purchase of two €60 shirts that are on a "buy one get one half price" promotion.
The price went up from €90 to €96 after I added the code!
Guess you can't avail of both promotions -pity.
    Anyway thanks OP

I always wondered who pays full price for shirts in Debenhams and M&S. Don't think I have ever paid more than €15 for expensive shirts with their 70% off sales and a big stockpile here...........

Wanted to buy a cheapish suit for an upcoming wedding and this 20% off would have been perfect, but my god for such a big company, they have such limited stock available on their website, i am a fairly common size but cant get a size on any suit that i was looking at

The one thing I cant stand about Marks (and other UK companys) is their exchange rate rip off.
I'm tired of seeing £15 items being sold for €25.
I thought the government were going to get a grip of that.

Wife saw childs shoes for £15 in store the other day and guess what...
    €37 euros! FFS!

Order from the UK M&S website and use Parcel Motel. I do it all the time.

That's one thing that drives me ape with the likes of M&S, Next, Zara etc ... especially considering there's no VAT on children's shoes.

I wonder if that was actually an exchange rate issue?

We may not have noticed but the exchange rate is back up to £1 = €1.25!

Marks' exchange rate this morning was £9 for €12 on a pair of school uniform trousers I bought (about £1 = €1.33). Getting free delivery by getting them delivered to the store in Dundrum; they will be there in 2 days.

Appreciate that there are some very bad offenders out there which translate £1 = €1.50.

I chanced it just to see if it would do anything and discovered that AUG14R3 gives you 30% off…

I'd guess that the same date restriction probably applies.

I don't know why Mille but that hasn't worked for me the last couple of times.

    Thanks Millem, it worked!
Edit: Actually it won't work. Had to remove code before completing purchase.

Yes. The NEWSLETTER5 works - you just have to use a new email address.
