    Hi All,

This is for a second TV, I already have Sky+ in the main room
I have a Saorview One4all aerial that is connected straight to the TV. There is also a Sky Coax connection to an old Skybox.

I want to combine both of these and was thinking of the Ariva 252
    http://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/Ariva-252-Combo.html

Would I be correct I can connect one Coax from the Sky dish and one Coax from the Saorview aerlial to the Ariva. The Ariva will scan both inputs and create and EPG.

The One4all aerial is currently main powered. If I use the Ariva box, does the Saorview aeriel still need to be main powered or will it get power from the Ariva 252 box? http://www.harveynorman.ie/tvs-headphones/set-top-boxes-and-aerials/aerials/one-4-all-outdoor-aerial.html

    Thanks,

Yes, if you take one coax from the spare port on the LNBF on your Sky dish, and run another coax from your aerial to the Ariva, the Ariva will give you both the Saorview and Free-to-air satellite channels on one EPG.

Note that with the Ariva, you will have 7 day listings for the Saorview channels, but only 'now and next' for the sat channels.

You may not need to power the aerial, depending on your location. You could do a test on your TV - plug out the aerial amp and see if you can still view the channels.

I don't know whether the Ariva can power a masthead/aerial amp, or what voltages it might output - try the Ariva thread:

Most DTT aerials use 5v supplies and if this is the case in the aerial you have the ariva will supply this. There is a setting in the menu to turn power on and off but by default it should be set to on .

Thanks, so I should not need to plug in a power source for the Saorview antenna(One4all). It sure saves hassle with a power supply.

If it uses 5v (most likely) then no you do not need a separate power source.
