FETAC 4 or 5 security courses

I'm interested in doing security studies, and was hoping I would have been about to do it true FAS (traineeship), but it is not being run anymore, and am trying to find a security course which is not just door procedures or computer security (getting very difficult) because I want to do CCTV monitoring, but at this current moment, you don't need a PSA (private security authority) licence to do that, BUT you need the licence to be employed in a security environment (how does that make sense!!)

If there's anyone who could help, if yous have any ideas on what to do, it would be very appreciated :-)

Plus, I don't want to do door procedures because I'm female, plus 5'1... So I wouldn't even suit it!! And I've done a computer course 2 years ago. Never again do I want to do networking or programming or anything like that.
Plus, again, I have contacted the PSA, but they couldn't give out a lot of information, even though they were help on other enquiries I had about the licence.

    Thanks for reading :-)
    S

What part of the country are you in?
Using www.qualifax.ie to search, there appear to be a number of level 5 and 6 courses all over the country.

Hi, contact the Security Institute of Ireland, they should be able to point you in the right direction, regarding the PSA, they are really only a cash cow in relation to licencing and the irish security industry.

The Security Institute of Ireland are a private provider - you will find that your local VEC/ETB can advise you of the nearest security course. Where are you located ?

Your best bet would be to opt for a full FETAC Level 5 or 6 award which includes the licensing modules as well as other modules.
