Open University pathway to post-primary teaching

    Hi folks,

Does anybody know where the Teaching Council stands with accreditation of Open University qualifications for registering as a post-primary teacher in Ireland?

Specifically, I wonder about their Masters in Education as an alternative to similar offerings in Irish universities? (I cannot post a link, but you can google 'Open University F70 new masters in education' to find the qualification).
I have searched on the Teaching Councils website but see no sign that it is recognised, does anyone have any confirmation of this?

    Thanks in advance

oU courses aren't teacher training so TC wont recognise as such. MEd is recognised as an MEd and certain subjects count towards that subject recognition

An MEd for them would look good on the CV and would help down the line to get a DP position but as has been said it's not a teacher training course.
