Best vacuum?

Any recommendations? I have a large house and the Henry hoover that I have just doesn't cut it. Takes me hours to hoover with it because everything gets stuck in the brush and I have to keep taking it out every 10 minutes. It doesn't seem to have the suction I need. I've had a Dyson (can't believe it's so popular, it's terrible!) and a Nilfisk (which was great, but broke while I was moving). I'm thinking of getting another Nilfisk as I loved it but I'm not sure which one, or is there anything better? I have 5 cats and 2 dogs so I spend a lot of time vacuuming. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Yep, this would be a very well regarded vacuum cleaner when there are pets about the house too. Very reliable too.

Nilfisk GM80 http://www.did.ie/nilfisk-vacuum-cleaner-gm80-prd Not a very trendy looking vacuum but has massive suction and virtually indestructible. Wanted to get one of these a long time ago but stupidly opted for a Dyson due to it's popularity...Big mistake! It is now in the back of the press having been replace by a Nilfisk and I'm sorry I didn't go with it in the first place!

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. I'm leaning towards the Nilfisk as the suction is great. It took me two seconds to get all the hair/fluff out of the brush with the actual vacuum, whereas with the Henry and Dyson I had to pull/cut it out myself. I also found that with the Henry, everything I was vacuuming up would cling to the brush bristles which is ridiculously annoying. Will the GM80 work well on tiled and carpeted floors? Everywhere downstairs (plus stairs and landing) is tiled. Carpets in bedrooms.

Works on everything! Have a tiled kitchen, wooden floors in sitting room and carpets in bedrooms and no problems with any of them. I have also been known to vacuum the decking with it! :D
