Avoid that 'deal'. The razor will be crap. You are very unlikely to get a starter kit for a straight razor for that price.

I'm going to try a straight. I'm considering a the Böker king cutter 5/8 from the invisible edge. Is it a good starter straight. Could I get more bang for my buck elsewhere? theinvisibleedge.co.uk/bokerkingcutter.html#boker_white

I bought from Invisible Edge some years back. Still not convinced the new Dovo I bought at the time was truly shave ready as opposed to factory-ready. I'd suggest mailing him and asking for confirmation whether he does any additional honing/touch up before shipping. Otherwise, very pleasant to deal with and no problems using them again .

    I got a Dovo and a Thiers-Issard from him.

He does work on them before shipping them.

Hi thanks I emailed & am assured they "prepare all razors so they are shave ready." They've recommended their THIERS IZZARD Basic black. I still like the look and finish of the Böker kingcutter.

It's your razor, so if you're happy with the price difference go for whatever one you prefer.
