There is no such thing as a 48 element aerial. Someone has counted the elements 4 times. Nor is there such a thing as a digital aerial.

    You have been conned twice!

Do the BBC and RTE channels come from the same direction? If not you may need two aerials.

Wasn't conned at all. I'm only reciting what's on the box of it. I Bought it in Aldi for 15 euro. Going by my house aerial there is what would resemble what I put on the caravan at the top of the pole , and then a smaller one a bit further down and yes they are facing different ways.

What was on the box was lies. Aldi conned you twice. Report them to trading standards.

See half way down re Digital aerial

Aerial on a pole on your caravan is probably lower than on your house - means less signal and possibly more obstructions.

Depends where exactly you're located, to get away with using a single aerial. Some kind of 'compromise' alignment might work, or maybe not (your OP doesn't suggest a strong signal that would be useful for off-beam reception), so then a separate aerial for each service would be needed.

If you're to the south of the Monaghan Saorview transmitter (rough transmitter location is halfway on a line between Clones & Clontibret), you might find that this transmitter & one of the UK Freeview sites: Divis (Belfast) or Brougher Mountain (Tyrone, NW direction from Co. Monaghan) are roughly in line with each other, so allowing proper alignment of the aerial on both, without any compromises.
