I have a little 7 month old dog who I have to leave alone while at work. Just wondering if anyone is interested in minding him in their own home for a few hours during the day or walking on a regular basis for a realistic cost. . He is a very sociable and friendly guy. I live in Drumcondra and work in Glasnevin/Santry area.

What's your idea of a realistic cost?

Well I suppose that would depend of what the service was. what were you thinking of?

I saw some fliers for daycares in the vets the other day but they're all around €20 a day afaik

I'd look for signs/leaflets etc in your local shops/post office, or ask people when you are out walking your dog. Even with a company like Petsitters you could get a rate of €17 (depending on time of day). But I'm sure you could get a better deal.

I am thinking about getting a dog but I want to bring it to a dog sitter during the day as I had my last dog walked during the day but she was still on her own for hours on end. I am also a bit weary of leaving an animal that can't tell you what happened in a strangers house, however nice they seem to be.
I googled dog minders and a site called Penny's Place came up. They people offering the service seemed quite reasonable but again you just don't know who you're leaving your little dog with. I am thinking of asking a neighbour that has a dog....What's one more and money into the hand each week?

Just be careful who you choose. I know do one person who boards dog and leaves them all day while she goes to work at her day job!! There's school kids who walk dogs but they're not in control of any of the dogs and just standing there while they all run amok in the park - I definitely wouldn't trust them with mine.

I suppose I was wondering if anyone who had a small dog in the area who would like to leave it with my guy or vica versa. Or maybe someone who is at home during the day whom I could leave him with the odd day just so he has company

Hey thanks for all the replies and advice. Somebody sent me a private message about walking my dog with their dog. I am wondering if that person can get back to me. I deleted the message by mistake before I got a chance to reply. Many thanks. And if anyone else has any suggestions for the drumcondra glasnevin area I would be delighted to hear from them.

The user who sent you that pm may very well have been a new user who has now closed their account, after having several posts deleted in which they were promoting their own dog-walking/dog-sitting services. One of their posts included an offer to walk your dog with their own, I can only assume for a fee.
I'm not saying it was the same person, but just be aware of the above... You may not hear back from them at all as they've closed their account.

Did you ever find a day care in Drumcondra/Glasnevin area? I'm due to collect my new puppy on Saturday but our day care place (lady on Lindsey Rd) has fallen through.

Hi, I've just started using a dog walking company cos my working hours are all over the shop :-(
Maybe it's because it's a new place, but she is very accommodating to my set up and very reasonable too. I was home for one of the visits and was well impressed with how happy my little guy was to see her. I also felt/fell very secure with her coming into my home. I use bcozucare.com and even tho I wasn't in the catchment area, she accommodated me.

^ No qualifications listed on the website or even a mention of a first aid course...

I posted about this before and I am going to try again!
I am looking for a kind reliable person in the drumcondra/whitehall/ glasnevin area to walk two small dogs on a Thursday and maybe Friday while I am at work or perhaps to mind them in their own home. I just want a bit of company/interaction for them.
    Anyone any ideas?

Didnt want to raise a new thread when this was valid.

Have a dog, which on a 2 days a week is left alone for a while. In Glasnevin area, and interested in potential dog walkers / day care etc. Any recommendations in 2017?

Hi there, just wondering if you got sorted with this? I have a four year old dog and have just moved to glasnevin area. I really want to put in place some arrangement for him so that he'll have company during the day. Just wondered if you found a solution?
